Doctor and Patient discussing scan results in diagnostic center

X-rays may be required for a diagnosis, after evaluating a patient’s history and conducting a physical examination. However, not all cases require an x-ray.

A chiropractor may take an x-ray to determine the following:

  • If a bone is broken or a joint dislocated following a traumatic injury.
  • If the pain is caused by an infection.
  • When a significant disease is suspected, such as cancer or a tumor.
